Making a Flat Plaited Belt

The strands are attached to a convenient stationary post. The plaiter starts in the middle because the strands are so long. She moves her chair farther and farther back as she plaits, and then starts working from the other side. This woman is making a flat plaited belt for every one of her grandchildren for Easter.
